About the Family
Countess Elzbieta ZAMOYSKA, her baby, and two nursemaids received their visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 5, 1940.
They crossed into Portugal and sailed to Brazil on the vessel Bagé in July 1940. From there they flew to Miami in April 1941 to join her husband Stefan Adam ZAMOYSKI, already in the United States.
