About the Family

The WASSERTHEIL family is presumed to have received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in France in June of 1940.

They crossed into Portugal where they resided first in Figueira da Foz and then in Porto. They sailed on the vessel Navemar from Lisbon to Havana, Cuba in August of 1941.
