About the Individual

Dr. Samuel SPLITTER, a stateless refugee born in Poland, received a visa from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 19, 1940.

He crossed into Portugal where he lived in Porto. In November 1940 he sailed on the vessel Nyassa from Lisbon to New York.
