About the Family

The SPEYER family is presumed to have received Portuguese visas in Bayonne on June 20, 1940 under the authority of Aristides de Sousa Mendes.

They crossed into Portugal, where they resided in Figueira da Foz. They traveled on the vessel Nea Hellas from Lisbon to New York in October 1940.
