About the Family

Regina SCHWARZ and her daughter Halina received visas in Bayonne, France signed by Manuel de Vieira Braga under the authority of Aristides de Sousa Mendes on June 20, 1940.

They crossed into Portugal, where they resided first in Figueira da Foz and then in Lisbon.

From there they traveled to Havana, Cuba on the vessel Serpa Pinto, and later emigrated to the United States, arriving in April of 1944 in Miami, Florida before settling in New York.
