About the Family

Berta POLAK and her son Jean-Claude were in Toulouse in July of 1940, and presumably obtained a Portuguese visa from Emile Gissot under the authority of Aristides de Sousa Mendes.

In January of 1942 they sailed on the vessel Serpa Pinto from Lisbon to the island of Jamaica, where they were interned at Camp Gibraltar.
