About the Family

Rosa and Wilhelm MANNHEIMER, German Jews, were imprisoned in the Cours du Médoc internment camp in Bordeaux, France in June 1940. The entire camp requested and received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes.

However, they were unable to leave France, were re-arrested on August 13, 1942 and interned in Les Milles. They were then transported to Drancy and from there deported on August 17, 1942 and murdered in Auschwitz.
