About the Family
The CHOROMANSKI couple received visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on June 20, 1940.
They did not use the visa to Portugal, instead traveling to Great Britain. They arrived in Brazil on the vessel Highland Monarch in September 1940, and subsequently emigrated to Canada. Ruth CHOROMANSKA had been a successful ballerina in Poland under the stage name Ruth SOREL. Michal CHOROMANSKI was a writer.
